Venture House: Edition #15
VC Events, Jobs, Resources, and more.
Venture House Squad,
Welcome to the the 15th edition of our weekly newsletter where we dive into the latest events, jobs, resources, and more across the venture landscape. We’re capping off (to put it lightly) a rather eventful week. The good news is that it’s Friday and I’ve got a brand new batch of events and jobs to keep you ahead of the curve.
If you’re new, my name is Gyan Kandhari and I’m the Head of Community at Venture House. I connect investors and founders, lead events and partnerships, and create content for rising VCs.
Without further ado, let’s jump into this week’s updates:
Investor & Founder Events
Next week includes networking cocktail hours, investor panels, and founder dinners. Keep your eyes open as there will be a slew of Thanksgiving events over the next few weeks (seriously, I’ve already seen five circulating around).
Check out our fully updated list as of today, November 8th.

Here's a quick rundown of what’s on the calendar…
🔍 Inside: Greycroft w/ Side Door Ventures (view)
Hosted by: Kishen Patel, Ashwini Anburajan, Andrew Chang
When: Tuesday, November 12th
Where: NYC
My take: Kishen (Investor, Greycroft) is teaming up with Ashwini (Side Door Ventures) and the team at Lynx Collective for a fireside covering fundraising, Greycroft’s strategic direction, and advice for software founders. Easy opportunity to connect with and learn from one of the top seed-to-growth investors while networking with both angels and founders.
🤝 Connect & Capitalize w/ NextwaveNYC and Forum Ventures (view)
Hosted by: Nick Saah, Alex Yen
When: Thursday, November 14th
Where: NYC
My take: Connect & Capitalize is a monthly series by Forum and NextwaveNYC bringing startup founders and VCs together. This month’s meetup features a retro gaming bar and an evening of arcade games, drinks, food, and networking (yup, I’m sold).
🥂 NYC Product Jam - Founders, Designers & Builders w/ Headline (view)
Hosted by: Zehra Naqvi, Cory Okeefe
When: Wednesday, November 13th
Where: NYC
My take: Calling all early-stage founders. Zehra (Headline) and Cory (Parallel) are hosting an intimate gathering for founders to show off their demos and sip on some wine. It’s meant to be a laid-back setting to get some feedback, meet potential customers, and connect with other builders in the city. As an early-stage investor, I LOVE these events as I can get a better pulse on upcoming trends and keep tabs on rising founders.
💑 AI and Dating: a Panel on the Future of Romance (view)
Hosted by: Tuhin Srivastava
When: Tuesday, November 12th
Where: NYC
My take: Oh man, this one’s going to be good. Tuhin and the team at Baseten are hosting a discussion on the role of artificial intelligence in the dating space. Think large language models, GPU infra, and all the tech driving today’s dating scene. I’m swiping right on this one.
🏃 Rise & Run: Early Birds at the Early Stage w/ Collab Fund & SPC (view)
Hosted by: Martina Stokes, Susannah Laster
When: Tuesday, November 12th
Where: NYC
My take: I’m not a runner but I will run for deals. If you’re an early-stage investor or founder, come connect on a (it says “easy”) morning run in the East Village alongside Martina (Collab Fund) and Susannah (SPC). Post-workout snacks include bagels and coffee.
VC Job Openings
We’ve got a smaller list than usual but the quality is 🤌
Here’s an updated list of VC roles as of today, November 8th.

I’ve handpicked a few of my favorite openings below…
⚡ Senior Investment Associate, Forum Ventures (view)
🗽 Location: NYC
My take: Forum is growing its team (two openings in two weeks) and is now looking to onboard an experienced venture investor onto its B2B SaaS coverage group. Top-tier dealflow, young (but experienced) team, and great pay to back it up.
⚡ Associate, Morgan Health (view)
🌇 Location: Boston or NYC
My take: Morgan Health is a venture arm of JP Morgan focused on accelerating health system improvements. As an Associate, you will help deploy $250 million across promising healthcare companies for the benefit of JPMC employees and the broader employer-sponsored healthcare system. If you’re passionate about healthcare and want above industry average pay + the benefits of a global organization while operating in venture, this one has your name on it.
⚡ Associate - Data/ML, Upfront Ventures (view)
🌴 Location: Santa Monica
My take: I would give my left arm to live in sunny California right now (although the 80-degree November NYC weather is much appreciated). Upfront Ventures is scouting for a technical (SWE, Product/Ops) person to join their Data/ML team. The two-year Associate program is designed to expose you to the full scope of a Lead VC Partner - from meeting entrepreneurs and sourcing investments to supporting portfolio companies.
At this point, I’m sure you’re itching to log off and kickstart the weekend. So without any further delays, here’s this week’s fortune cookie…
Most people in therapy are there because the people in their lives who actually needed therapy refused to get it.
