Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter. We’ll dive in each week on the latest events, jobs, resources, and more across the VC landscape.

We’re cutting the fluff and making each email as info-packed and digestible as possible. My goal is for you to use this newsletter as a weekly bite-sized update to help you carve your path to a partner.

Before we jump in, my name is Gyan Kandhari and I’m the Head of Community at Venture House. I connect investors and founders, lead events and partnerships, and create content for junior VCs.

Investor & Founder Events

Partners usually take off for the July 4th holiday only to return from their European sabbatical a month later. No partners, peak summer, office unattended…👀

My take: If you’re looking to grow your network within the junior VC space, I highly suggest attending this event if your schedule permits. Top speakers, analysts through principals in attendance, Chicago in the summer. Sounds like a win-win.

Where: NYC
My take: Andrew’s Rooftop Mixers are a great way to conduct flexible vs targeted network building; chances are you’ll meet operators and founders from all sorts of backgrounds. You never know who you’ll meet but that’s what makes the events great. Also, the Williamsburg Hotel is 👌

If you’re an early-stage founder or investor, check out the Private Founder & Investor Breakfast on July 19th. This is more targeted but spaces are limited.

My take: All Raise is an amazing community of female founders and funders. If you’re not already part of the community, this event is a great way to learn more (given you’re in the Chicago area). My take: Think Tech Week packed into one day and hosted in August. Tickets are pricey but if you can expense them to your company, why not?

The VC space usually heats up come September and stays hot until year's end. This means more hands are needed → more roles are available.

🦉Location: Toronto
My take: Forum has some top-notch talent and is active. Toronto is not for everyone but I see that as more white space opportunity to make a name for yourself.

My take: OKAY - not a VC role (sue me). But Corp Dev exposes you to founders, blends in M&A work that develops your technical acumen, and PayPal is a blue chip company.

🌉Location: San Francisco
Great for anyone with Investment Banking/Consulting/PE and Venture experience looking for a more senior role. SF isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but they have driverless Ubers now 🤷
